500,000+ User Data Leaked, a study done over 3-5 months of random users.
This is really big news that happend last night and is spreading like wildfire. Apparently someone at AOL leaked a huge file on user search data showing information from credit card number, social security numbers, searches for buying drugs, and searches for people looking to murder other people.
There are hundreds of searches from people looking to kill themselves and even more scary are searches from users that seem to be looking to commit murder.
Check out the search history for user 17556639, most recent search is at the bottom of the list.. Does this look like the search history of a user wanting to do something bad?
17556639 how to kill your wife
17556639 how to kill your wife
17556639 wife killer
17556639 how to kill a wife
Some pretty scary stuff in this file. The weird part is this is the kind of thing that Google has been battling at to get the government from not getting, now that they have a taste will they really start demanding it? Just goes to show that your not invisible on the web and you should really be careful what you search for.
Here is a link to alot more detail.
